For todays lesson in technical drawing, we did measuring with shapes. We had to draw rabbits as it was part of our unit and we had to draw shapes (squares, triangles) in a very light shade. We also had a meeting with Southport bid on how and when we will create rabbits and where will put them around Southport.
For this week, we chose the best project in our sketch books and I chose the Zine Page. We chose this for a post card and we spend all lesson doing it. For today (Thursday) we did Tone and Shade which s we make the lines darker and the light bit shady.
For this week, we did a dry print portrait by using the pictures we took around Southport. I used a picture of a church that is in Southport. We first used a plastic piece, and a pen scratcher to scratch over the plastic. Next we went to the print room and to used any colour of ink over the sketch, then we took all the ink off by using rags to make sure it is see through. Next we took the sketch over the board along with damp paper to make the sketch stick to the paper. We turned a wheel so it pressed hard on the paper and when it came out you could see the sketch on the paper.
Week 4 - For this week we researched Giacometti, wrote about him and what his life was like. We then did monoprinting just like Giacometti did and did monoprinting designs. We had an induction of the monoprinting and what equipment we had to use. We first rolled ink onto the table so the paper an stick could use a pen and a pencil for the design, we gently laid the paper onto the ink but not to hard as the paper will completely stick to the ink and the table. Next we doodled the pen or pencil on the paper, and then lifted the paper up to see black lines from behind it.
Week 3 - For this week we did some research on Jackson Pollock of what his art was and how creative he was. We also did a task of some of his paintings individually, we splashed different colours paint onto the piece of paper to make it look like some of his designs. After that, we went into groups up to four, we placed our piece of A3 paper on the floor, with a back round of newspaper, we then started to splash paint onto the paper, we also put cardboard on to make shapes on the design. Today we researched Giacometti and in our sketchbooks we had to draw the person who was facing us, we had to draw with on contor with either a pen or pencil.
Week 1, we all made stencils and ten spray painted them over onto paper, cardboard and graph paper. We also searched up Banksy and James Gulliver Hancock and what their products were. Banksy was a street artists who did arts around the streets in different places. Gulliver Hancock did paintings of buidings with all sorts of colours on them. Week 2, Today we went around college to record ourselves for a video project of art. We started this by looking at Gilbert and George's video, Bend it. We also researched Julie Venhoelven and Peter Clark. Julies art product was fashion and Peter lark did animals with found pieces of paper glued to them.
